Camp Its' that time of the year!!!!

Last week's camp went great! It always amazes me to see kids outside their normal environment. Camp's seem to do that for kids. Just by putting a little fun and excitement into their lives can open a door of opportunity for you as the adult to speak into their lives. I always get excited around camp time, even though it requires a lot of work, I know God always has a plan and a purpose. Usually there is one or two kids that kinda stick out. I don't know about you but I'm glad I serve a God that likes to have fun. Kids need to know God loves them and is not up in heaven waiting to thump them over the head when they mess up. Props to all who helped last week with camp. I know you are as blessed as I was.

Preparer or Repairer

To many times we view children's ministry as baby sitting service , while we as adults go enjoy what sometimes is referred to as Main Church, Big Church or Grown-Ups Church. First of all we should never make a distinction between the two. As a family we all go to Church. By making such comments to a child it makes them feel less apart of the family experience. Besides the last time I looked in the b-i-b-l-e, God put more emphases on ministry to children than he did the adults. Remember in Matt. chapter 19 he stops his ministry to the adults, who had gathered around, to bless the children who were brought to him. Then he rebuked the disciples for turning them away. So for all you children's workers out there who sometimes feel your job is not important on that particular day, this blog is for you. Just remember you are in the prepare business, and for all you Pastor's we will keep trying to make your job a little easier so you don't have to do as much repairing later.
